This store is my way of bringing fine bamboo fly rods—primarily from the great North American makers—to a European audience, something I have felt was missing for quite some time. Naturally, we also welcome customers from around the world, and our selection includes distinguished European makers such as Pezon et Michel and Hardy.

Here you will find examples of the finest reels from Hardy's illustrious history, alongside exceptional work by contemporary craftsmen—particularly Swedish makers whose names may be less familiar to anglers beyond Scandinavia. And do not be surprised if a Bogdan, Vom Hofe, or Pflueger makes an appearance from time to time.

Alongside rods and reels, I offer a carefully curated selection of vintage angling literature, reflecting the rich history, culture, and spirit of our sport. You will also find traditional fishing vests and garments, predominantly made in the United States or Europe, together with other fly-fishing accessories and ephemera—all selected for their craftsmanship, character, and enduring quality.

I have little affection for outsourced mass production, seasonal collections, or disposable plastics. Instead, I believe in objects made with care, intended to be used, cherished, and passed down through generations. I hope this philosophy is reflected in everything offered at Alder Creek.

Alder Creek takes its name from my favourite stream, far in the north of Sweden, where I first learned to fly fish for grayling and trout at the age of twelve. Now, after more than thirty years with a fly rod in hand, I wanted to share my appreciation for the timeless tackle of yesterday through this small, independent online shop.

  • I accept payment via PayPal and most major credit or debit cards. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer or cryptocurrency, please contact me.

  • We ship worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and displayed in your basket before purchase. Please note that any applicable customs duties, import taxes, or tariffs are the responsibility of the buyer.

  • At Alder Creek, we want you to be entirely satisfied with your purchase. Customers residing within the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of receiving their order, in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.

    If you wish to return an item, please contact us within this period. Items must be returned carefully packaged and in the same condition in which they were received. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, unless otherwise required by law.
