This store is my way of offering quality bamboo rods—primarily from the great North American builders—to a European audience (though we ship worldwide), something I feel has been missing for quite some time. Naturally, I also include notable European makers such as Pezon et Michel and Hardy. Here you’ll find examples of the finest reels from Hardy’s illustrious history, along with exceptional work from today’s respected craftsmen—particularly Swedish makers who may be less familiar to anglers outside Scandinavia. And don’t be surprised if a Bogdan, Vom Hofe, or Pflueger appears from time to time.

Alongside rods and reels, I offer a curated selection of vintage angling literature that reflects the culture and spirit of our sport. You’ll also find traditional fishing vests and garments—most often produced in the US or Europe—together with other fly-fishing essentials and ephemera, all chosen for their craftsmanship, character, and lasting value. I don’t believe in outsourced production, annual collections, or flimsy plastics destined to fail, and I hope this philosophy is reflected in the products I offer.

Alder Creek takes its name from my favorite stream, far in the north of Sweden, where I learned to fish the fly for grayling and trout when I was twelve years old. Now, after more than thirty years with a fly rod in hand, I wanted to share my passion for the timeless gear of yesterday through this small, virtual shop.
